Glenelly: Water, Power Behind Thrones (Challenging)

This challenging 12km walk from Park Village over Learmount Hill and Mullaghdoo-Mullaghclogha to Glenchiel will trace the heritage of watercourses in the Sperrins from glaciation to the present day, outlining their continued importance to settlements throughout counties Tyrone & Derry.

Ability: Challenging/ Hillside, Bog and Track Walk

Distance: 12km

Start Time: 9am

Registration Time: 8.30am

Duration: 7 - 8 hours

Meeting Point: Watts Barr, Plumbridge. Please arrive at registration point no later than 8.30am to begin the walk.

Transport will be provided from meeting point to and from the walk start/end.

Route: Learmount Mountain - Mullaghdoo - Mullaghclogha - Glenchiel

Fitness Level : This walk is suitable for particiapnts wih a high level of fitness and those who hike on a regular basis.

Medical: People with serious but stable medical conditions should not consider this walk due to remoteness from roads. Participant Consent/Medical Forms to be completed on the day.

Essentials: Hiking boots, waterproofs, packed lunch and 1L water minimum essential. Organisers reserve the right to refuse admission if not fully equiped for the terrain and conditions.
